Blodgett Supply has launched an aggressive advertising campaign to educate consumers about the advantages of Solar Hot Water Heating.  The campaign stresses that savings of up to 70% on water heating costs are possible.  In addition, federal tax rebates of up to $2,000, and state rebates of up to $1,800 allow for a three to five year payback on domestic hot water systems. 

Blodgett has sold solar hot water systems since 1976, and is a leader in solar thermal solutions.  “Going green, and reducing your carbon footprint may be the hot buzz words today” says George Robbins, Blodgett’s Rutland manager.   “But saving money immediately and far into the future are powerful reasons not to delay an installation”, according to Robbins.  He stresses that winter installations are available, and that solar solutions even work during Vermont winters.  Financing is available for installations from various sources, including local banks through low interest Home Equity loans.  Solar systems are known to add value to homes, so the investment makes additional sense, according to Robbins.
